WELCOME TO
COUNSELLING
WITH KATIE HENNESSY
Space to talk, at your pace.
Welcome
Reaching out for support can feel hard, especially if you’re not sure where to begin.
You may be feeling uncertain, anxious, overwhelmed - or you may not feel anything clearly at all. Perhaps you're simply curious about counselling. Maybe it's none of these.
Counselling doesn’t require you to have the “right words”, a clear plan, or to feel a certain way. We begin wherever you are.
Whether something specific has brought you here, or you're just noticing that things feel hard, there's no right or wrong reason to seek support.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. Life happens - sometimes through significant or painful events, and sometimes through things that build up over time. All experiences matter and can affect us differently.
We are all human, and it can help to have a space to talk things through - a space where things don't have to be held alone.
Whatever brings you here is welcome.

A bit aBOUT Me
I’m Katie, a person-centred counsellor and therapist. I offer one- to one counselling for adults aged 18 and over.
Working in a person-centred way means I won’t tell you what to think or do — instead, I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can explore what feels right for you.
I believe that having space to be open and heard without judgement can really matter. With the right kind of environment, people can begin to make sense of their experiences and find their own way forward.
While the approach I work from is important, research also suggests that the therapeutic relationship itself is often one of the most important aspects of counselling.
With that in mind, I want you to know that I'm human too. While my life experiences may be different from yours, I recognise that life can be challenging at times.
My aim is to support you in a way that feels human, grounded, and led by what feels important to you.

Note: The terms counsellor and therapist are often used interchangeably and commonly refer to talking therapy.
